A breeding resident. Localised, but occurs widely across the Waterberg wherever its preferred habitat of cliffs and rocky ravines exists – much less frequently recorded in the surrounding thorn savanna (83% in, 17% out; recorded in 38% of the Waterberg pentads); in territorial pairs year-round, small family groups after breeding; often around lodges and farm buildings. Breeds in summer, usually usurping the nest of a Lesser Striped Swallow for this purpose.
