Almost certainly a breeding resident – it occurs year-round but breeding has not been confirmed. Generally scarce, though in the vicinity of high cliffs such as along the Sandriviersberg it is frequently seen; may occur anywhere, often in association with other swift species (recorded in 23% of the Waterberg pentads).
