A non-breeding summer visitor from the Palearctic, present between Nov and Mar. Very sparsely recorded across the Waterberg and in the surrounding thorn savanna (recorded in 4% of the Waterberg pentads); a skulking species, it occurs solitarily, mostly in thornveld, its presence usually detected by hearing its warbling song; probably much overlooked.
