A breeding resident. Common and widespread across both the Waterberg and the surrounding thorn savannas (49% in, 51% out; recorded in 97% of the Waterberg pentads); it is the commonest dove in agricultural areas, and in urban environments and wherever natural habitat has been disturbed or modified. Breeds year-round but mostly in winter.
