A vagrant. A single (photographic) record of a pair of birds drinking at a birdbath in a garden at Hermanusdoorns in Nov 2019. These two birds photograhed at a bird bath are the first record of the species for the Waterberg. Earlier in the year (xxx 2019) a single bird of the same species was photographed on the Springbok Flats east of Mookgophong; both records are far west of its recorded range.
