A vagrant. Rare (recorded in 2% of the Waterberg pentads). On the nearby Nyl floodplain thousands of birds arrive from the tropics to breed in years of high rainfall, present here Dec to Apr; the occasional records from the Waterberg are likely spill-overs from this influx.
