Indicator minor | Lesser Honeyguide | Kleinheuningwyser

Waterberg Game Park, Sep 2022

Moon River, Dec 2017

Lephalale, Jul 2015
A breeding resident. Fairly common – but less so than Greater Honeyguide – and found widely across the Waterberg in wooded areas (recorded in 48% of the Waterberg pentads). As in that species, calling males are mostly encountered, these giving away their presence from their intermittently repeated “frrrp” call which they utter throughout the summer from high in a tree. Parasitic, it breeds in summer and its primary host in the Waterberg is the Black-collared Barbet.
