Hippolais icterina | Icterine Warbler | Spotsanger

Lephalale, Mar 2016

A non-breeding summer visitor from the Palearctic, present between Nov and Mar. Sparsely recorded across the Waterberg and in the surrounding thorn savanna (recorded in 10% of the Waterberg pentads); a skulking, solitary species frequenting the canopies of thickets and densely foliaged trees, its presence mostly detected by hearing its warbling song; easily overlooked.
