A breeding summer visitor, present between Oct and Mar. Uncommon, though recorded widely across the Waterberg (recorded in 15% of the Waterberg pentads); in any woodland; its presence is mostly given away by its far-carrying “coop-coop” call; it becomes silent after Dec and much less detectable then. Breeds in summer parasitizing the Fork-tailed Drongo.
