A breeding resident. Very common and widespread, both across the Waterberg and in the surrounding thorn savanna (49% in, 51% out; recorded in 92% of the Waterberg pentads) and being a conspicuous and vocal bird, its presence is unlikely to be overlooked anywhere; frequents any woodland, its occurrence at any one place probably dependent on fruit availability; occurs singly or in small groups of up to 15 birds. Breeds year-round with a late summer peak.
