A breeding resident. Common and widespread across much of the Waterberg but avoids densely wooded, and hilly, rocky areas (recorded in 72% of the Waterberg pentads); single birds or pairs are often encountered perched conspicuously on telephone- or high tension lines. Breeds in summer.
