A breeding resident. Fairly common and widespread across the Waterberg and in the surrounding thorn savannas, roosting and breeding on large cliffs wherever available, and on farm- and town buildings (50% in, 50% out; recorded in 68% of the Waterberg pentads); in pairs at breeding sites, otherwise usually in flocks that range widely to feed in agricultural lands. Breeds year-round.
