A breeding summer visitor, present between Oct and Mar. Fairly common, both across the Waterberg and in the surrounding thorn savanna (47% in, 53% out; recorded in 43% of the Waterberg pentads); frequents both woodland and open country. Breeds in summer; parasitic, bulbuls, Southern Fiscal and some bush-shrikes are favoured hosts.
