A breeding summer visitor, present between Nov and Mar. Occurs fairly commonly in thorn savanna on the Springbok Flats adjacent to the Waterberg but is rare and erratic in occurrence in the Waterberg (20% in, 80% out; recorded in 6% of the Waterberg pentads); in pairs while present; parasitic, its usual host in the area is Burchell’s Starling.
