A non-breeding visitor from its breeding range in northern Africa (Cameroon to Ethiopia), present mainly between Nov and Mar. Uncommon; present in some years but not in others (recorded in 10% of the Waterberg pentads); mainly in agricultural areas, and in small to large flocks.
