Possibly a breeding resident. Recorded at three localities within 20 km of each other along, or close to the Palala River north of Melkrivier, in Oct 2016 and Nov 2019; these records suggest that a small resident population of this out-of-range eastern lowveld species may exist in the riparian thickets along the lower-reaches of the Palala River.
