An erratic visitor, perhaps seasonal in occurrence, since records (n=14) are mostly between Jan and Jul. Rare, recorded very sparsely and erratically, both across the Waterberg and in the surrounding thorn savanna (recorded in 7% of the Waterberg pentads); frequents open bare ground, especially old lands; occurs singly or in loosely associated groups.
